Mossel bay proved to have great facilities and the Club really went out of their way to make sure we were well looked after. Bridge Officer Ronnie Baer really tried to get as many races in as he could, but the wind gods refused to play ball.
Saturday saw winds around 12 to 17 knots. Vaalie Gareth Baxter got off to a good start with 2 firsts and a second . Hot on his heels were James stock and Leo Davies both sporting their brand new Mylar sails.Tim Manley, jonathan Kukard and James Mc wha were always in the hunt and ready to capitilise on any mistakes.
Sunday despite desperate attempts, no races were completed as the wind died off completely. monday dawned looking promising and Ronnie Baer took the fleet out early. Unfortunately only one race was completed, the rest abandoned due to lack of wind. Leo Davies dominated this race after choosing to go left after the start pulling out a great lead to win the race convincingly. James and Gareth came in 3rd & 4th respectively.
The gold went to Gareth Baxter and in 2nd was James followed by Leo. There were eleven boats with few new faces who I am sure learnt a lot and will improve as time goes on.
