Sails,measurement etc – Nationals
We all want to be fast on the water, but please remember we have certain rules to level the playing field for everyone. PLease dont try and get around these because if you are found to be in transgression,it could be a costly exercise.Lets rather try to encourage an ethic of “I need to train, speak to past champs etc as I want to win Nationals”.
Refer to us if you are in doubt.
Which brings me to Nationals.
Dont try to take out correcting weights when you think no one is looking. We will be spot checking and if we catch you we will name and shame you and feed your boat to the Barbel in the Creek.
Do try to pre-measure before travelling to the Vaal, then all that is left in JHB is to weigh your pride & Joy – this is a quick and simple process. If you enjoy standing in thre sun with Oppies etc be my guest. If you need advice, speak to your reps or phone me in need 083 236 7518.
Lastly, please leave the Hookah pipes etc at home – some people dont like them and this is a youth regatta.please also dont try to prove how cool you are with Black Labels, etc, and yes this does include weed ( I am not referring to Sandvlei’s either) and other banned substances. We have never had an incident, but beware ISAF has long ago warned they could conduct tests. This doesnt only apply to our class, but lets try and keep it above board. So,if we find you sailing your own course we may check you out a little closer.
