Latest on 2007 Course issue
After a hectic week of e-mail debate it seems that common sense has prevailed. A vote of thanks to David Booth and his team for accommodating our point of view. What we as a class need to ensure is thay we turn out in force, enjoy the sailing and social side to make this event one to remember. I quote Davids e-mail for your attention.
Hi All
The following were agreed at the recent Classes meeting.
There will be 4 courses:
- Optimist
- Dabchick
- Laser – the number of starters will be dependant on the number of entries per Laser Formula.
- Hobie Dragoon 420 and Mirrors
The novices will be also catered for as a separate function.
A deadline of 31st October has been agreed as the deadline for the above classes to enter a minimum of 10 entries to be accepted as a class at the Youth Championships.
Theewater SC has consulted with SARS and as they are a VAT registered Club SARS states that all entries must be inclusive of VAT. Therefore the following entry fee have been set including VAT. R315.00 across the board.
Championship medals will be presented as per SAS requirements. Each class would provide there own prizes. The Optimist class had been allocated the Championship Program to assist them raise funds towards their Worlds team funding.
The SAS age requirements will apply, subject to class rules: “Open to all sailors who will not have attained the age of 19 before 31st December 2007.”
Now with these factors agreed I will put forward the application for SAS’s sanction and NoR. I will also amend the TSC information sheet on their website.
Yours in sailing
DAVID BOOTH

Hi Colleen
The dates will probably be the same as last year, or similar. I have requested the organising committee for confirmation and an update asap.
