12 Dabchicks turned up at the start line for the provincial Regatta. The number of entrants was dissapointing but judging from what I see in other classes not bad.
The NSA AGM was held starting at 19h30 and ending at 19h45.
We had 4 newcomers to Dabbies in the fleet, Lejan Lethwaite (trying out a Dabbie), Julian Wertheim Aymes with his brand new Du Toit/Wertheim Aymes,Jessica Gibbons (Trying out my Boets boat) and Bradley Robinson (trying out my cousins boat). They were made to feel very welcome in true Dabchick spirit.
The wind gods played along and 11 of the scheduled 12 races were completed. Up front of the fleet,Tim Forson,Gareth Baxter and Jessica Hogg fought it out for the honours. On day 1 Tim F won all 4 races, Jessica got the 2nds and Gareth the 3rds. On Day 2, Gareth won 4 of the 5 races with Jessica and Tim sharing 2nd and third. The 3rd day belonged to Jessica. The first 3 places went to Tim Forson, Jessica Hogg followed by Gareth Baxter. I will post the full results once received.

Ian Hogg has advised that this will be a free regatta, no entry fees. In addition KZN Dabchick will throw in a free meal on the Saturday night.
Not many freebies around these days so use the opportunity and get to Midmar. Remember the Dabbie racing only starts on Saturday.
From 28th September to 30th September 2007. You can read the official sanction letter here – while the NoR itself is here.
